Welcome to my blog! As this is my first ever post, I’m just going to briefly introduce my topic and explain why I think it is important.

So, my topic is looking at the impacts that environmental change is having on the ocean and fisheries. I've found a short news video from the June Rio +20 Earth Summit that briefly but efficiently covers the main changes occurring in the ocean. If you’d like to read into these in more detail, the guide to the information presented at the summit is available here

There have been blogs before which have looked at these changes to the ocean, however I want to try put more of a focus on how these changes will specifically effect fisheries. I want to do this because I think this is how the changes occurring in the ocean will have a direct impact on people’s lives. Again below I've found a short video this time from the World Bank that shows how life has changed for one man in Indonesia.

Although I’ve started on this personal level, hopefully through this blog I will develop this theme so you can see how such difficulties are starting to have a global impact.
